This week will mark the halfway stage of Newquay Dramatic Society’s superb new production “YES PRIME MINISTER” based on the much loved TV hit sitcom of the same name. This brilliant play written by the writers of the TV series has only just been released for amateurs to perform. It is a first for Cornwall if not the Country. The authors have not lost any of the whit and hilarity of the TV series in the reproduction of this classic comedy.

When Yes, Prime Minister finishes, a new play takes over in the form of “DRESS REHEARSAL”, which is waiting quietly in the wings to take up the mantle for the next 10 weeks again every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8pm.
This play is a completely new play never before seen on stage anywhere, another World Premier brought to you by Newquay Dramatic Society. It follows the fortune of an am dram group faced with the nightmare that the play they are rehearsing will go up 6 weeks ahead of its planned date due to an error in the publicity printing. The cast turn up for what they believe is an ordinary rehearsal only to be told by the director that this is there dress rehearsal hence the tittle of the play and they start the run the next night. This play with in a play will just be the icing on this year’s summer season at Lane Theatre – Newquay’s only live Theatre.
