Ex Tretherras teacher, Steve Dunn has finished his epic walk to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, walking from his Newquay home back to his childhood home of Torquay via the South West coastal footpath.
After walking over 300 miles, a distance further than if he had walked to London, he was welcomed by his mother at his former family home in Torquay on Saturday.
His 27 day journey started on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May and progressed through all shades of weather and all types of terrain. He was joined at various legs of the journey by friends, relatives and supporters of his fundraising campaign.
Steve Dunn is a former teacher and taught for many years at Newquay Tretherras Secondary School, retiring as deputy head. He was looking for a novel way of raising money and this seemed a good idea at the time.
Steve has so far raised £1,785 for Macmillan Cancer Support. His JustGiving page has daily updates of his journey along with many pictures taken along the way. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/steve-dunn5
