SURFING HIGHLIGHTS:
Surf commentator Nick Williams takes us through today’s highlights from the surf at Fistral Beach:
“Boardmasters day 4 saw another great day at Fistral beach where we completed the Animal Pro Junior competition in the waves. St Ives ripper Harry De Roth took the win closely followed by Angus Scotney. We also saw the Grom Masters U16s Final with Harry DeRoth this time coming 2nd and Angus Scotney nipping him to 1st. We ran the SunGod Women’s Open all the way through the semi-finals and expect a great clash in tomorrow’s final. We managed to host the Urban Beach Air Show with Luis Eyre taking the win in the smaller tide and a great way to finish the day at the beach.
We’re expecting more surf in for tomorrow and begin with the Davidoff Cool Water Men’s Longboard Pro and Men’s Open from 10am. We’ll also be hosting the SunGod Women’s Open Finals, Longboard and Men’s Open Finals presentations in the afternoon. We’ll see you tomorrow down at the beach!”

BMX HIGHLIGHTS:
BMX MC James Hitchcox takes us through today’s BMX PRO Finals:
“Saturday’s brought one of the biggest BMX crowds we’ve ever seen at Boardmasters on a blazing hot day. The new location for the mini ramp over on the Headland grassy bank proved a great move, drawing in masses of people and the best British BMX riders from all over. They were stoked to arrive on a day that threw up hardly any wind, encouraging huge airs and the gnarliest tricks. Ambitious tricks were attempted from the likes of Tom Isted, nearly landing his 1st double flair and Jack Watts went close to nailing a flair whip to bars. Other highlights came from Tom Justice with a fufanu on the back rail and Declan Brookes, who pulled a double bar to step through can-can like a boss! Finally, winner, Mark Webb, who has recently come back from a career-threatening injury and undergone 5 ACL surgeries, miraculously produced a no hander 900 and fully pulled it. Bang on 9!

SKATE HIGHLIGHTS:
Our Skate MC Marc Churchill explains what went down on the ramp today:
“The skating started off with great weather this afternoon and a massive crowd at our new location up on the Headland. We managed to get through all but the last heat of the competition until rain postponed the end, but we’ll be back from 1pm tomorrow to finish things off and wrap up the day with the Penny Best Trickcompetition.
The highlights from today saw local lad Josh Rounding manage to miss the rain and get a few powerful runs in, with some airs and stylish grinds. Carl Wilson was on form as always, cruising smoothly around the ramp, and Dean Greensmith was flying around like a man possessed while nailing an invert revert on the extension.
The Waterton brothers rode amazingly well, impressing all with their big airs and inverts, giving the older guys a real run for their money. We also saw the likes of Jordan Thackery land a backslide boneless into a disaster off theextension and Jak Tonge make things look easy with a barrage of airs and lip tricks.
Jake Anderson brought style by the bucketful, landing a kickflip indie and mixing it in with old school tricks including a Todd Twist and a variety of boneless variations. Finally, the huge crowd got to see Jed Cullen beasting the ramp with a kickflip into fakie and another kickflip off the extension into the lower section of the ramp, which is a big contender for the Penny Best Trick Comp.
Boardmasters Fistral Beach site is open until Sunday, no ticket necessary so festivalgoers and locals are free to come down and take in all the sporting action in their own time.
